Teré Fowler-Chapman (pronouns he/him & they/them) brings almost a decade of teaching experience to his current role as Dean of Student Life & School Culture. Teré attended Northern Arizona University and majored in Liberal Arts Education. As a cultural worker, teaching artist, educator, and assistant principal Teré has developed numerous inclusive school-wide programs and curriculums that retain students and sustain their self-discovery. He is passionate about meeting students where they are. His passion has awarded him the opportunity to work with under-supported student populations, private high schools, public high schools, students in detention, and incarcerated youth.
Teré has facilitated numerous professional development for Tucson-area school districts and teachers on the topics of gender competence, culturally relevant teaching practice, and experiential education. Their spoken word pedagogy and practice have made appearances in Arizona Public Media PBS/NPR, TEDxTucson, Emmy® Rocky Mountain Southwest Chapter, National Art Strategies, March on Washington Film Festival and the Smithsonian, The University of Arizona, The National Book Foundation, KORE Press Institute, and more.
