Committees: Capital Campaign, Executive, Governance, and School Governing Board for PFFS-Downtown
Dr. Mary Jo Ghory has served on the Board of Directors since 2004 and was Chair of the Board from 2007-2017, providing strategy and managing outreach efforts for the organization. She now provides leadership as the capital campaign chair to support CITY Center for Collaborative Learning’s campaign to raise $1.1 million for renovation of the new collaborative learning space at 37 East Pennington Street.
Mary Jo’s passion includes innovative approaches to education and she has actively been involved in philanthropic giving and support to youth education, children’s health and arts organizations.
Mary Jo is a retired pediatric surgeon and physician educator and earned her M.D. from the University of Cincinnati, 1975, General Surgery Residency at Cook County Hospital and Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. In addition to her commitment to CITY Center for Collaborative Learning, she is the President of Panorama Estates Neighborhood Association, volunteers at the Arizona State Museum, and served on the Arizona Theatre Company Board for several years.
