The Colorado River Watershed is perhaps the most important shared resource the youth of Arizona will inherit. Youth voice and participation in decision making will only encourage greater understanding of the water users, management, ecology, geography, hydrology, history, and cultures of the watershed.
This is an Unconference in the style of an EdCamp. Our 8th graders at Paulo Freire Freedom School-Downtown would like invite youth from across Tucson, who are passionate about the future of water, to discuss issues peer-to-peer. Any student who attends can bring their own research and voice to the event. Topics will be solicited at the opening of the Unconference and discussions will take place in various spaces around 37 Pennington.
Water professionals and advocates are encouraged to attend. We ask that you please be prepared to support student led discussion, be open to sharing your expertise, and listen to what the kids have to say!
