Tim Grivois-Shah, Ed.D., is CITY’s Director of Professional Learning and Community Engagement. Experienced in Positive Behavior Intervention and Support and in elementary education as both a teacher and school principal, Tim is committed to supporting Tucson in become a trauma informed learning space.

Licensed Professional Counselor Tessa Brock is a passionate, engaging and inspiring presenter who tackles tough topics about trauma, communication and positive guidance with a balance of expertise and humor.

Traumatic stress can affect how students learn. Trauma informed practice is about creating learning spaces where all students are fed, safe, and loved so that our children who have experienced trauma can achieve to their highest potential.

Participants will learn how trauma affects the brain and how children who have experienced trauma can heal. Also, Tessa and Tim will model several strategies to help educators be calm, unmoveable, and regulated when our students need us the most.
