Student Led Conference
Daniel, a student at Paulo Freire Middle School, leads a conference about his learning.

As educators, we understand that parent / teacher conferences are a valuable time for teachers and families to communicate about student progress and goals for the rest of the year.  We also know that when students take responsibility for their learning, their social, emotional, and academic achievement grows too.

What if parent / teacher conferences were a time for students to take charge of their own learning?  Come and see how student-led conferences transform conferences with families from a time of ‘talking about’ student learning to an opportunity for students to ‘take charge’ of what they have learned and what they plan to learn for the rest of the year.
