The mission of CITY Center for Collaborative Learning is to:
“Design, implement, and advance exemplary practices in teaching and learning that transform the lives of young people and their educators” (see CITY 2020 Strategic Plan).
Therefore, we are very excited to be sending our three school principals to ISTE 2018 (described as the ‘Epicenter of EdTech’) in Chicago on June 24-27. As the instructional leaders of our three, demonstration schools – Brett Goble (City High School), JoAnn Groh (PFFS-Downtown), and Chad Blair (PFFS-University) are responsible for facilitating innovation, keeping our teaching faculty alert to the latest and most effective teaching and learning strategies, and supporting implementation of educational technology – especially now that we have opened our ‘collaborative learning center’ on 37 East Pennington St.
“The collaborative learning center will serve as an ‘innovation lab’ on our downtown campus. It will be used by the students and staff of the Paulo Freire Freedom Schools and City High School in a variety of ways, including project-based learning, performances, arts and fitness electives, cooking classes, and whole school gatherings. The center will also be a space where teaching and learning practices can be developed and shared among educators to help transform the way we think about and ‘do’ school.” (see Innovation Lab @ 37 East Pennington).
Thank you Brett, Chad, and JoAnn. We look forward to everything you will be bringing back from #ISTE18 to our demonstration sites!
