Following the late-breaking developments that took place this past spring with the historic RedforED movement and the impact it had on the Arizona state budget for the 2019 fiscal year, we got to work on revising our own budget drafts with the main priority of increasing our teacher salaries. The finance committee of the CITY Center for Collaborative Learning’s board of directors, working in collaboration with administrative staff on the budgeting process, approved an 8% salary increase for our educators. As outlined below, the average salary increase came in higher at 8.9%, in part due to increases in FTE and other factors.
In accordance with Arizona state requirements, we are providing specific details about the salary averages for our teaching staff, specifically:
- The average salary of all teachers employed in fiscal year 2019 is $42,764
- The average salary of all teachers employed in fiscal year 2018 was $39,344
- The increase in average salary from FY18 to FY19 is $3,420
- The percentage increase is 8.7%
