CITY Center for Collaborative Learning was in the spotlight at the big National Philanthropy Day luncheon on November 17. Long-time board chair Mary Jo Ghory received the Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year award and the City High School internship program was honored with the Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy award. Raevyn Crews, class of 2016, and senior Martín Acuña, accepted the award for City High School.
The luncheon was hosted by the Southern Arizona chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and took place at the Westin La Paloma Resort. Over 600 people were in attendance, including many nonprofit leaders, development professionals, community leaders and philanthropists. CITY Center was well represented in the crowd, with two tables filled with board members, the Ghory family, teachers and school leaders, friends of the organization, and two young people representing the City High School alumni and student body.
